No Medical Safety Without Cybersecurity
Ensure your medical devices meet FDA and global safety standards with FIPS-validated TLS and cryptography from wolfSSL.
Protect patient data, prevent device tampering, and secure connected healthcare systems, including implantables, patient monitors, bedside systems, surgical robots, and cloud services.
Does Your Medical Device Need SSL/TLS?
The wolfSSL embedded SSL/TLS library provides secure communications for embedded medical devices, connected healthcare systems, and cloud applications. It supports TLS 1.3 and DTLS 1.3 while maintaining a small footprint (20–100 KB typical build size, 1–36 KB runtime memory per session), making it well-suited for resource-constrained medical systems.
wolfSSL includes a flexible IO layer supporting Bluetooth, TCP/UDP, and CANbus, allowing it to integrate naturally into real-world device architectures.
To protect devices beyond runtime communications, wolfBoot secure boot ensures system integrity from startup. It provides rollback protection and safeguards against downgrade attacks, complementing TLS to help protect sensitive medical data. An OpenSSL compatibility layer further simplifies migration for existing applications.
The CMVP has issued FIPS 140-3 validated Certificate #4718 and #5041 for the wolfCrypt Module developed by wolfSSL Inc., helping medical devices meet VA, HIPAA, and global security standards. For more information, see our FIPS FAQ.
