Coming Soon: wolfHSM Support for Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G

Automotive security is moving deeper into the silicon, and wolfSSL is continuing to expand wolfHSM support across the MCU platforms powering next-generation vehicles.

Coming soon: wolfHSM support for the Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G family.

Infineon’s TRAVEO™ T2G automotive microcontrollers target applications ranging from body electronics and gateways to digital clusters and other connected vehicle systems. Across the family, TRAVEO™ T2G devices provide integrated hardware security capabilities designed to isolate sensitive operations such as cryptographic processing and key management.

wolfHSM is designed to make those capabilities easier to use.

Built around a portable client-server architecture, wolfHSM allows the application processor to request cryptographic, key-management, and secure-storage services from code executing inside the device’s trusted HSM environment. Applications can continue using familiar wolfCrypt APIs while sensitive operations are transparently offloaded to the HSM.

For TRAVEO™ T2G developers, the upcoming port is intended to provide a straightforward path to capabilities such as:

  • Secure key generation, storage, and management
  • Cryptographic offload using HSM-resident keys
  • Secure non-volatile object storage
  • HSM-backed secure boot with wolfBoot
  • Hardware root of trust for certificate chain verification and public key authentication
  • Crypto algorithm agility through wolfCrypt, including support for post-quantum algorithms and SM ciphers

One of wolfHSM’s key advantages is that applications are not limited exclusively to the algorithms implemented by the silicon’s hardware accelerators. wolfCrypt can execute additional algorithms within the protected HSM environment while transparently taking advantage of hardware acceleration where it is available.

That combination gives automotive developers a path toward hardware-backed security without sacrificing crypto agility or application portability.

Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G support coming soon. As the port becomes available, we’ll be sharing more details on architecture, configuration, cryptographic offload, key storage, and integration with the broader wolfSSL embedded security stack.

Building an automotive ECU around TRAVEO™ T2G? Stay tuned. wolfHSM is headed your way.
