wolfSSL now supports offloading AES-ECB and AES-CMAC operations on S32K3 family devices equipped with the ACE accelerator. This accelerator is featured specifically on the S32K388 and S32K389.
The ACE accelerator provides a significant speedup compared to our software implementation and the native HSE operations available on the S32K3. This means you can keep your keys stored in the HSE while still maintaining strong performance on the platform.
The benchmarks were captured on an S32K388EVB-Q289 evaluation board running FreeRTOS. The S32K388 core was clocked at 48 MHz.
These throughput benchmarks streamed in 1024 Byte blocks to their respective operations. wolfSSL currently does not support ECB operations to be offloaded to the HSE.
This benchmark represents how many individual blocks of a given size were processed by the given backend every second.
