Live Webinar: Porting wolfIP: From Network Driver to RTOS Integration (EU-Friendly Time)

Packet stalls, DMA/cache issues, and RTOS synchronization problems can make a TCP/IP port unreliable. Learn how to handle these integration points when porting wolfIP to your hardware and RTOS.

Join us for a practical walkthrough of porting wolfIP, from network controller bring-up to RTOS socket integration. Driver examples and a Zephyr case study highlight integration pitfalls and how to address them.

This webinar will cover:

  • wolfIP_poll() packet processing and driver poll/send responsibilities
  • DMA rings, buffer ownership, memory ordering, and cache coherency
  • PHY initialization and driver bring-up
  • RTOS tasks, locking, blocking sockets, and reliable wakeups

Ask the Expert: Answers Key Questions
Our experts answer key questions about what attendees will learn

Where does the network driver connect to wolfIP?
The network driver provides the poll and send functions used during wolfIP_poll() processing. Start bring-up by checking PHY initialization and basic packet reception and transmission.

What should I check when DMA transfers fail?
Check DMA ring setup, buffer ownership, memory ordering, and cache coherency. The CPU and DMA controller need consistent packet data and a clear handoff of each buffer.

Why can a blocking socket stay blocked?
Check task coordination, locking, and the wakeup path when data arrives. A missed wakeup can leave a task waiting even after packet reception.
