We’re excited to announce that wolfBoot now supports Infineon’s AURIX™ TC4xx family of microcontrollers!
This brings wolfSSL’s portable, open-source secure bootloader to Infineon’s next-generation automotive platform, extending our existing support for the AURIX TC3xx family.
Together with our recently announced wolfHSM support for the TC4xx, wolfBoot provides a foundation for secure boot, authenticated firmware updates, and hardware-backed root of trust on next-generation automotive and industrial systems.
wolfBoot on AURIX TC4xx
wolfBoot is a lightweight, portable, and operating-system-independent secure bootloader designed specifically for embedded systems. Built around wolfCrypt, it provides cryptographic firmware authentication and secure firmware update capabilities with a minimal footprint.
Key capabilities include:
- Secure boot and firmware authentication
- Authenticated firmware updates
- Firmware integrity verification
- Flexible update strategies
- Multiple cryptographic signature algorithms
Integration with wolfHSM
wolfBoot integrates with wolfHSM to leverage the TC4xx HSM for security-sensitive operations. This allows firmware verification to use hardware-protected cryptographic keys and operations while wolfBoot manages the secure boot and firmware update process.
wolfBoot support for the TC4xx is delivered as part of the wolfHSM platform release, which is currently NDA-restricted due to Infineon’s security policy and available directly from wolfSSL.
