We heard you, everybody! After immense customer demand, we’re excited to announce that wolfHSM now supports the Texas Instruments TDA4VH platform — bringing our lightweight, embedded Hardware Security Module (HSM) framework to one of the most in-demand automotive SoCs on the market.
The TDA4VH integrates advanced security and real-time processing capabilities, making it an ideal target for wolfHSM’s flexible, portable design. With this new port, wolfHSM can leverage the TI Hardware Security Management Subsystem (SMS) and Secure Proxy infrastructure, enabling secure key storage, hardware-accelerated cryptography, and seamless communication between the main CPU and the HSM core.
Highlights of the wolfHSM–TDA4 Integration
- Native integration with TI SMS APIs for secure key operations and lifecycle management
- Hardware-accelerated cryptography offloaded to the SMS automatically via the standard wolfCrypt API you know and love
- Support for wrapped key storage, allowing sensitive data to be stored in untrusted memory anytime it leaves the secure boundary of the SMS
- Extensible client/server architecture for transparent communication between application cores and the SMS
This port continues our mission to make wolfHSM a vendor-agnostic, modular, and certifiable HSM solution suitable for any automotive embedded platform — from microcontrollers like the NXP S32K3 and Renesas RH850 to advanced multicore SoCs like Infineon AURIX TC3xx and ST Stellar G.
Availability
wolfHSM support for the TI TDA4 platform is available now to customers with a valid NDA with Texas Instruments. The codebase includes platform abstraction, build integration, and example applications demonstrating key management and secure channel use cases.
