wolfSSL was featured in Anthropic’s announcement of OSS Scanner, a new AI-powered vulnerability detection service designed to strengthen open-source software security.
Todd Ouska of wolfSSL commented on the quality of the findings:
“We found the signal from these reports high: of the 74 reports we received, all but two were valid, and five became CVEs. With patches attached, the reports slotted right into our existing process to verify and fix issues. We’d love more.”
wolfSSL employs multiple layers of security testing, including its internal Fenrir tooling, to identify and address vulnerabilities. Its engineering team is equipped to quickly review and address large volumes of reports. Anthropic’s OSS Scanner adds another layer of vulnerability detection, helping strengthen the security of cryptographic software deployed across government, defense, and industry.
Not every identified vulnerability presents the same real-world risk. Exploitability depends on factors including platform, configuration, and deployment conditions. wolfSSL evaluates findings and prioritizes remediation accordingly.
Proactive security testing remains essential. Identifying vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them helps protect the systems that depend on wolfSSL.
