OpenZFS native encryption uses its own built-in crypto, not the kernel crypto APIs. A wolfSSL patchset replaces it with wolfCrypt: data blocks, ZIL log blocks, and dnode encryption all route through wolfCrypt. Your pools, datasets, and keys stay exactly as they are.
wolfCrypt holds FIPS 140-3 certificates #4718 and #5041.
