wolfSSL Training Week: Two-Day Technical Training

A TLS integration can compile successfully and still fail because of certificate configuration, handshake behavior, platform constraints, or an incorrect build option.

This two-day technical training follows the complete integration process, from selecting and configuring cryptographic operations to establishing, troubleshooting, and optimizing a TLS connection. A wolfSSL engineering manager will connect the underlying wolfCrypt implementation to certificate handling, TLS behavior, and the constraints of an embedded target.

Day 1: Cryptography and Certificate Management

  • Build and configure wolfSSL and wolfCrypt
  • Work with RNGs, hashes, ciphers, signatures, and key agreement
  • Generate keys and manage X.509 certificates
  • Configure hardware cryptography and FIPS builds

Day 2: TLS Integration and Embedded Optimization

  • Configure TLS 1.3, DTLS, PSK, and session resumption
  • Trace handshakes and diagnose certificate and connection failures
  • Cross-compile and port wolfSSL to a target platform
  • Analyze stack, heap, and code size to reduce resource use

Ask the Instructor: Answer Key Questions
Our experts answer key questions about what attendees will learn

What will we work through on Day 1?
Day 1 establishes the cryptographic foundation behind TLS. The instructor will work through wolfCrypt operations, key and certificate handling, and the configuration decisions that prepare an implementation for TLS.

How does Day 2 turn that foundation into a TLS integration?
Day 2 follows a connection from configuration through the handshake, showing how certificates, protocol settings, and build choices affect whether it succeeds. You’ll learn to trace failures back to their source instead of treating the TLS handshake as a black box.

How will the training address embedded-platform constraints?
The instructor will show how porting and configuration decisions affect compatibility and resource use. You’ll examine stack, heap, and code size when optimizing wolfSSL for a target.
