Previously with calls to wolfSSL_SMIME_read_PKCS7 in wolfSSL we were automatically performing a verification of the bundle’s signature after parsing it. To support more use cases the behavior was updated to allow for only parsing the ASN.1 syntax when calling wolfSSL_SMIME_read_PKCS7. Now more complex bundle setup’s are supported and more flexible means of verifying the bundle after it has been parsed. One of the more straightforward ways that still exist to verify the bundle is by using wolfSSL_PKCS7_verify.
